Hiking, camping, and the exploring of nature. My love of science and biology come in full force when I get to be outside and experience nature which, not only hugely helps mental and physical health, but also allows me to look at natures glory in a scientific lens where I can truly appreciate the evolution and adaptation life has gone through.
Playing of multiple sports such as field hockey, dance, ultimate frisbee, golf, basketball, and squash. I have always loved to play a variety of sports because I know how different sports all have something different to offer and target specific strengths. I hope I can become a gym teacher at one point or another in my life.
Movie production and the intricacies of directing, stunts, story writing, visual effects, and acting. The art of movie production and all its facets have fascinated since elementary. I try to do things in life that use different parts of my brain and the vast amount of information making a single movie gives is a perfect creative outlet for me.
Short story and poetry writing. Albeit amateur I take great joy into story writing, especially in the case of writing fantasy stories for my Dungeons and Dragons group to play in. Poetry is something I dabble in from time to time when I feel inspired and I like to do it because it is one of the farthest things from science I can think of.
A lover of nerd culture including comic books, dungeons and dragons, videos games, and electronic arts. A lot of my recreational time revolves around exploring the different avenues of nerd culture and honing and deepening my knowledge of strategy, art, and history of those aforementioned avenues. I absolutely love talking about nerd culture and I have had many lengthy conversations with students about different topics. This is quite beneficial for me because I fell the “nerds in classes” stay quiet most of the time so getting their passions to come out is an amazing thing to see.
